The tower defense game category has exploded in recent years. One of the games worth taking a look at is Bloons Tower Defense 3.

Bloons Tower Defense 3 improves upon shortcomings of the two previous titles in the series.

Now, there are eight levels to choose from. The levels vary between bright snowy track to a volcanic lava track.

There have been made improvements in the number of ranks and tower types. Now you can choose to use spike-o-pult tower, which is a catapult equipped with spiked boulders; pineapple, which explodes shortly after it is placed by the player; monkey beacon, which increases the speed and range of monkey towers that are in its proximity; and there is a top secret weapon, which function we will not spoil here.

To add even more variety, each tower has two upgrade options. For example, a new, additional upgrade for the boomerang monkey is turning it into a ninja star-throwing monkey, which pops more bloons than the regular one.

The baloons have also gained some variety. Especially, the bosses are now more powerful. In higher levels, some baloons will now require up to 10 pops in order to break them down.

If you haven’t played Bloons Tower Defence game before, then you can expect a game that requires thoughtful selection and laying out your turrets. On the higher levels, you will enjoy various powerful upgrades and bonuses. However, don’t thing that the game will get easier because of it. The bloons will get upgraded accordingly, and the bosses will give you a real challenge. The sense of urgency is needed to play this game successfully, but the rewarding feeling of overcoming the obstacles is great.

Bloons Tower Defense 3 is a very playable game, with cute graphics. However, the two previous games in the series are to be avoided.
